Welcome to Sean Harris Architect Ltd (SHAL) a Registered Practice & Architect with the New Zealand Institute of Architects, (NZIA). Our office is in the Central North Island, Taupo. Sean became a Registered Architect in 2000. Before being accepted into the School of Architecture at Auckland University, Sean was a Certified Architectural Draughtsman.
After completing a Masters in Architecture with emphasis on sustainability & the built environment, Sean started this practice in 2003. With a background in residential, commercial, & community projects, Sean is able to provide the necessary service for most projects.
The recent earthquakes has seen Sean assisting local engineers with seismic strengthening projects, dealing with historic buildings, building code requirements and project management.
Along with the sustainable building practice, the passive house ethos is becoming an important way to improve the building performance to achieve a health internal environment & drastically reducing energy costs to run the building efficiently.
