Kinloch House

This is a passive house currently under construction, not to be confused with a passive solar house. This is a large house 200m² with a granny flat, high ceilings with a rustic lodge feel.

The five principles for a passive house are; thermal bridge free design, superior windows, ventilation with heat recovery, quality insulation & airtight construction.

This results in a warm house that requires no extra heating to maintain 20º C inside with outside being 0ºC. Low energy use and filtered air, (allergy free & no more dusting).

This house is nearing completion & has reached the PHI (Passive Haus Institute) Low Energy Building criteria.

Making it one of the top 40 best performing houses in New Zealand at this time.
